Directions to Garrett's office and the EGW Conference Room
My office is in the east wing of the Engineering Gateway building (building 321)--also known as EGW-- on the 2nd floor. The EGW Conference Room, E1130 E, is the same building, in the same wing, on the ground floor, which is below street level but at the same level as the quad area.
You can locate the Engineering Gateway building on the campus map by finding grids E8/F8, and looking for building 321. It is located between Gabrelino Drive and Los Trancos Drive, right by a shuttle stop and a yellow pedestrian crosswalk. From a campus pedestrian's perspective, EGW is just S.S-E of the McDonnell Douglas Auditorium and the Information and Computer Sciences and Engineering quad area. It has a large courtyard or quad area which lays between its West and East wings.
If you enter from the rear or from the courtyard or quad area which lays between the wings, you will be on the ground floor level. This is where the conference room is. You will find it behind the open stairwell, at the bottom of a ramp which has a white tubular railing.
If you enter from the street-level entrance, you will be on the 2nd floor. This is where my office is. EGW is between parking lot 18/18a (where the new CalIT2 building is being constructed) and 18c, and is just adjacent to East Peltason Drive. The nearest major cross street is East Peltason and Los Trancos, which is the entrance to parking lots 18 and 18a (see map). The easiest way to find my office is to enter the street-level doorway by the '1' in the '321' building number on the map, turning right on entry and then right again. Ask for me at the front desk.
If you come here for a meeting and no one is in the conference room, just go upstairs to the NACS help desk and ask for me or whomever set the meeting up.
EGW Parking
Parking at UCI requires a parking permit except in metered stalls, which are quite hard to find. Parking permits are available at kiosks at both the West Peltason and East Peltason entrances off of Campus drive. The nearest to Engineering Gateway is at the East Peltason entrance, across from the Police Station and Services Building. This kiosk is noted with a black star on the campus map at the lower right-hand corner of grid C8 on the campus map (the West Peltason permit dispenser is located in grid C5). Rates for sort term parking are shown here.
Because parking lot 18/18a is being used as a construction site, the only nearby parking is parking lot 18c or the parking lot located between East Peltason and Russell Place, by the corner of East Peltason and Gabrielino Drive, located on the campus map in grid E9, and marked '43'.

You can visit me by going to the 2nd floor of the east wing of EGW, and go to the front desk in NACS and ask for me by name or, "that network wrangler guy, I forget his name." For meetings here, the EGW conference room is directly below NACS, on the ground floor, behind and next to the stairs.
I also work out of URP, (University Research Park) some of the time. This is where the NACS Network Operations group is, and the NACS URP Conference Room. The NACS URP facility is located on the south-west corner of California and Bison on the ground floor. From the 73 freeway or from McArthur, proceed on Bison towards the campus and turn right on California, then at the next right into the parking lot. The building is on your right. Walk in the door on the western side and turn right into the first door. There is a receptionist there. No parking permit is required.

Please note that neither my pager or cell phone work while inside of many campus computer rooms, and not at all inside of Engineering Gateway. The relevance of this point is that I can't be reached while I am on my phone in Engineering Gateway, or while in a computer room or anywhere besides my office in Engineering Gateway. In an urgent situation, please feel free to contact the NACS help desk at 949-824-6116 if you are unable to contact me.
