Shohreh Bozorgmehri is the Director of Academic and Network Applications at UCI's Office of Information Technology. She oversees the following functional areas:

  • Academic Web Technologies leads instructional technology efforts on campus and develops and maintains UCI's course management system, Electronic Educational Environment (EEE - eee.uci.edu), Distance Learning Center's course management system (DLC - learn.uci.edu), and participates in the Academic Personnel Systems development initiative (AP - recruit.ap.uci.edu).
  • Enterprise System Architect which designs, develops, and maintains system architecture for a range of web technologies and design enterprise web applications for the campus community.
  • Division of Undergraduate Education - Information Technology (DUE-IT) which provides IT support for the Division of Undergraduate Education.
  • Distributed Computing Services which provides professional support of research and instructional computing environments, making available UNIX, Linux, network administration, and custom programming expertise on a contract basis.
  • Network & Support Programming which maintains software systems in support of UCI's network.
  • Academic Affairs Information Technology which provides computing support and management of computing resources for the staff of various campus offices at UC Irvine.

Brief Biography

Shohreh began her career in computing at UC Los Angeles in 1993. She joined UC Irvine's (UCI) Network & Academic Computing Services in 1994, where she has established a career in information technologies and application development for the past 15 years. She led the design and implementation efforts of UCI's first course management system, EEE in 1996, convened the campuswide computing lab coordinators group (CLC) from 2001 to 2004, chaired the EEE Operations group in 2007, initiated the faculty online recruitment system project in 2005.

Shohreh is currently involved in a collaborative partnership with the University of California, San Diego. This partnership was initiated to expand and offer UC Irvine's online faculty recruit system to other UC campuses. Shohreh's team is also exploring the use of UCSD's current faculty merit and promotion review system for use at UCI. These projects will embrace full partnership at both policy and procedures as well as application development from each campus.

Shohreh's interests are software development, web applications, strategic IT initiatives and partnerships, cross-organizational collaborative IT solutions, user relation, and executive management. Her primarily subject areas include: educational technology, infrastructure services, middleware, distributed computing, network programming, departmental IT support, and academic personnel systems.
